RUN

Anyone read RUN by Ann Patchett (author of Bel Canto)? I really recommend it. I didn't know how this author could do better than Bel Canto, but this may be. She has an intriguing way of making a simple encounter into a life altering event. The story is about family...intermingled with love, race, class, religion, politics, and a pile of surprises. One of the most interesting takes on communication after death that I have ever read. Go get this one! Carla

Just finished it last night, and it was great. I'll admit I had some trouble getting into it, but I loved the characters - and that's what makes a good book for me. - June

Wow! I finished this last night and I wonder if the other readers of Run find her style in this book (as well as The Magician's Assistant) uniquely different? In fact, I don't think I could recognize the style in all 3 as hers. But, I highly recommend all three! Did someone read "The Patron Saint of Liars?" Maybe I'll read that after I read "Restless" by William Boyd.
